Hunt Valley, Maryland (25 June 2024)—EA, a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today the promotion of Laura Oakes to Engineering Services Profit Center Manager. In this role, she will be accountable for operational performance, personnel management, technical product quality, client satisfaction, and business development in EA’s mid-Atlantic region.

Laura is a licensed Professional Engineer and Project Manager with 20 years of professional experience. She has been with EA for more than 18 years and has focused on supporting clients with water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and solid waste management among a wide variety of other environmental engineering projects. Laura has grown continuously throughout her engineering and consulting career including responsibilities for performing engineering design and analysis, managing projects and programs, leading client development and proposal activities, recruiting staff, and supporting operations management.
Laura earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering at Clarkson University. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland and a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer in solid waste management through the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. As a long-time employee, she embodies EA’s culture of servant leadership and corporate social responsibility through active leadership roles in industry associations and volunteer activities. Laura is currently serving as a Water Environment Federation Delegate representing the Chesapeake Water Environment Association (CWEA) and has served on the CWEA Board of Directors for the past 8 years, including a 1-year term as President. She also leads an annual officewide campaign to furnish holiday gifts and everyday essentials for residents of The Children’s Home.
For the last 2 years, CWEA has recognized Laura for her outstanding service to the organization first with the organization’s President’s Award, followed by their Arthur Sidney Bedell Award, which recognizes exemplary organization leadership, administrative service, membership activity, and/or stimulation of technical functions.
