Kim Nelson Elected to SEBAC Board of Directors

Headshot of Kim NelsonHunt Valley, Maryland (17 October 2024)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC, a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is proud to announce that Kim Nelson, Senior Vice President and Director of Federal Programs, has been elected to serve a 3-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC). The organization serves as a collective voice to advocate for small businesses engaged in environmental services work for federal government agencies. EA is a long-time member of SEBAC and Nelson has been involved with the organization for more than 15 years. This is her first leadership role in SEBAC.

“As a public benefit corporation guided by the principals of servant leadership, we fully embrace our role as a leader in the environmental industry and small business community,” said Nelson. “I’m excited to advocate for policies that ensure EA, our peers, and industry partners can deliver high-quality services, foster partnerships, and share vital information—strengthening their role in the small business sphere.”

Founded in 2001, SEBAC supports member firms by building awareness of the benefits of contracting with small environmental businesses; advocating for policies, regulations, and laws that support participation in the federal government marketplace; and serving as a vehicle for information sharing and partnership opportunities. Located throughout the United States, members perform environmental services for all branches of the Department of Defense and numerous federal civilian agencies.

Nelson joined EA in 2016 and has more than 38 years of experience in the environmental industry. She was promoted last year to Director of Federal Programs, and more recently to Senior Vice President. She has served on EA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee since its inception. Nelson is a licensed Professional Geologist in Wyoming and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology and English Literature from Augustana College. She actively participates in the Society of American Military Engineers and serves on the Board of Directors for the Engineering Society of Baltimore.
