Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study

Two munitions response employees wearing vests and hard hats and standing among pine trees. One holds a magnetometer while the other shovels dirt from the ground.EA has successfully completed numerous remedial investigation/ feasibility studies for the DoD, several of which have led to site closure.  This was accomplished by working closely with the DoD to meet the data quality objectives established through the technical planning process and accepted by all stakeholders concerned.  Inclusive of the remedial investigation process, EA characterized the nature and extent of MEC and associated munitions constituents of concern for each project site.  The data gathering was used to complete the Munitions Response Site Prioritization Protocol and prepare a MEC Hazard Assessment and/or MEC Risk Management Methodology, and for preparation of human and ecological risk assessments, as necessary.  EA successfully completed the feasibility study for each site, which evaluated and recommended the appropriate remedial alternatives to mitigate the hazards or risks that are determined to be unacceptable, in compliance with applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements.
