EA provides environmental audit services at targeted facilities nationwide, with certified audit professionals performing multi-media environmental compliance audits at operating facilities. Audit scopes include water, hazardous waste, materials management, community right-to-know, air, aboveground and belowground storage tanks, polychlorinated biphenyls, and drinking water. Audits focus on federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as LS Power Corporate guidance and policies. Compliance with air pollution control regulations including Title V operating requirements, regulatory reporting requirements, continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) Quality Assurance Management Plans, operating conditions (i.e., startup and shutdown), and special reporting conditions are the focus of many of the audits. EA’s three-phase approach starts with a pre-audit questionnaire and conference call prior to the onsite audit to review the audit scope and discuss logistics. EA uses customized audit software and protocols to ensure consistency in the audit methodology across all operations. During the onsite portion of the audit, duties include: (1) participation in audit opening meetings, daily briefings, and closing meetings; (2) conducting audits and provide regulatory interpretations against one or more compliance protocols; (3) preparing exception-based audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations; and (4) ensuring the audits are conducted in a thorough and professional manner. Post-audit activities include reviewing the final audit report for completeness and accuracy. Hallmarks of EA’s approach are consistent and clearly-worded audit reports and responsive service in support of dynamic client requirements.
