EA served as a primary environmental consultant for the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel Project located in the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia. The project consists of the construction of a new two-lane parallel tunnel to the west of the existing Thimble Shoal Tunnel. Due to the potential low probability of encountering UXO during the Hampton Roads Bridge tunnel expansion, EA was asked to provide UXO Awareness Training to site workers in the event of any potential UXO discoveries. Area-specific UXO Awareness Training was developed and conducted online and recorded for future site employees to attend.
