EA performed a needs and business analysis of the practices, policies, and procedures for ongoing management and maintenance of geospatial records of water distribution and wastewater collection systems for Anne Arundel County, Maryland Department of Public Works, Technical Engineering Division’s. As part of the analysis, EA facilitated a series of working group meetings to identify the workflows and data management practices of the multiple county agencies responsible for the geospatial records. Additionally, EA performed an independent review of the County’s existing systems, data sources, and software supporting the geospatial records maintenance process to help complete the workflow definitions. To memorialize the results of the analysis, EA generated a Data Migration Plan and Implementation Plan, which were used during the development and implementation phases of the project. The Data Migration Plan outlined the County’s data and metadata requirements and provided the mapping for migrating the existing geospatial records to the new system. The Implementation Plan identified the Autodesk Software requirements, which included a robust quality assurance/quality control workflow to enforce rigorous data standards as information was updated in the new system.
