EA staff include accredited Green Marine Verifiers providing attestation/verification to this voluntary environmental certification program for the North American marine industry. Green Marine provides a detailed framework for ship owners, ports, terminal operators, shipyards, and Seaway Corporations to improve their environmental performance in measurable ways through commitment to and self-reporting on key environmental issues include air emissions (SOX, NOX, PM, GHG), aquatic invasive species, garbage management, cargo residues, oily water, spill prevention, and community impacts. These and other issues are addressed in the program through 12 performance indicators. EA staff provides independent attestation/verification of self-reported performance levels prior to Green Marine acceptance and communication. Services include review of pre-assessment materials, onsite review and interviews, and post-assessment verification reports.
