Hunt Valley, Maryland (7 June 2024)—EA is proud to announce that Proposal Manager Alyssa Watkins has been recognized by Water For People with a 2024 Kenneth J. Miller Founders’ Award.
“Alyssa humbly takes on so much responsibility, seeking no recognition, but really providing an invaluable service to our Water For People Workplace Giving program and EA’s culture,” said Abbie Smith, Vice President and Director of EA’s Water For People campaign. “She has jumped in with both feet, providing support on any task requested as well as taking the initiative to identify new ways for us to engage employees.”
Since 2016, EA has partnered with Water For People as part of the Charitable Giving pillar of the firm’s Public Benefit Corporation framework. Since then, the firm and our employees nationwide have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through payroll or direct donations with a company match, one-time donations, and organized fundraising.
The Kenneth J. Miller Founders’ Award was established in 2001 by the Water For People Board of Directors to honor outstanding volunteers. Today, the award is presented annually to exceptional volunteers nominated by the Water For People Committees and Workplace Giving Partners.
Alyssa joined EA in 2022 as a Proposal Manager in the Federal Proposal and Programs Support Group and quickly became an integral part of EA’s workplace giving steering committee. She brought fresh ideas for engagement, including a virtual “Great Puzzle Race” where employees donate to compete individually or as a group to complete virtual puzzles that depict Water For People Impact Tour highlights. Alyssa has also taken a leading role in supporting workplace giving communications by streamlining announcements and maintaining information shared with the company. A graduate of Mount Saint Mary College, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and has 10 years of professional experience in copyediting and writing.
