EA provides UXO construction support services for numerous projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground, including for a base-wide electrical-line upgrade. Since 2017, EA has provided UXO construction support for approximately 81 miles of electrical utility upgrades, including pole installation for overhead lines, and directional boring and trenching for underground lines. Our activities include daily UXO awareness and safety briefings, a combination of surface sweeps, subsurface clearance (detection and identification), and anomaly avoidance. EA prepared two separate Site-Specific UXO Work and Safety Plans for the Aberdeen and Edgewood areas of Aberdeen Proving Ground, in accordance with Installation Safety Office requirements. EA also provides UXO construction support for various other construction activities including building construction, geotechnical investigations, well drilling, and wetland delineations.
