Hunt Valley, Maryland (19 August 2025)—EA is proud to announce that two of its leading technical experts, Mahsa Modiri, PhD, PE, and Pavan Challa, PhD, have coauthored Chapter 6 of the newly released Corporate Guide to Identifying and Remediating PFAS, published by Environment Analyst (link will open in new tab).
The guide provides practical, science-based strategies for the private industry and public utilities navigating the complex landscape of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. Chapter 6, authored by Modiri and Challa, focuses on EA’s innovative approach to PFAS remediation in water; highlighting advanced technologies for both removing and destroying PFAS. These include novel separation techniques and destruction methods that convert PFAS into less harmful inorganic end products.
“PFAS contamination is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time,” said Paul Caprio, PG, Vice President and Director, Chemicals and Contaminants of Emerging Concern. “Mahsa and Pavan’s contribution to this guide reflects EA’s commitment to advancing practical, effective solutions that help our clients stay ahead of evolving regulations and protect public health.”
The guide is available for free download (link will open in new tab) and is designed to support informed, strategic decision-making for organizations at any stage of PFAS risk management.
EA has established itself as a leader in PFAS research and treatment innovation, particularly in water and wastewater systems. Through contracts with federal agencies and non-profit organizations, the firm’s principal investigators have conducted extensive research into both separation and destruction technologies for PFAS remediation.
