Hunt Valley, Maryland (12 March 2024)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is proud to announce that the American Council of Engineering Companies/Maryland (ACEC/MD) recognized Vice President and Program Manager Ivy Harvey P.E., PMP, with the organization’s Engineer of the Year Award in the Medium to Large Firm category. Celebrated by co-workers and peers, Ivy was formally recognized at the ACEC/MD awards banquet, which was held in February at the Engineering Society of Baltimore.
“We are incredibly proud of Ivy and her achievement in being selected as the ACEC/MD Engineer of the Year,” said Kim Nelson, Senior Vice President and Director, Federal Programs. “Her passion for environmental engineering, commitment to industry leadership, interest in research and development, tireless work ethic, and unwavering dedication to EA and our clients have made a significant impact on our company and the broader engineering community.”
The ACEC/MD award is presented annually to an engineer who has both contributed to the profession and impacted society. This honor recognizes Ivy’s exceptional skills, leadership, and commitment to advancing the industry. “My engineering career has created endless opportunities for me to positively impact the world, whether through colleagues, clients, the community, education, or the profession,” she said. “I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award from ACEC/MD.”
Ivy is an ideal recipient for Engineer of the Year based on her unique combination of technical excellence, industry leadership, and community service efforts. She has 20 years of engineering experience that has involved an array of challenging projects, ranging from environmental permit compliance to performance-based remediation contracts across the country. Ivy served as Program Manager for several of EA’s research and development projects to advance our understanding of the impacts of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and possible treatment strategies. She also volunteers prolifically, working with the Society of American Military Engineers on STEM outreach to K-12 and collegiate level students. She is currently serving as President of the National Association of Ordnance Contractors, fundraises for the nonprofit Water For People, and volunteers her personal time with Thread, a Baltimore-based organization dedicated to helping underserved youth build a stable and fulfilling life.
