EA is providing a wide range of mission support, including industrial hygiene services to support ongoing programs and capital projects at the U.S. Capitol Power Plant, Utility Distribution System, Senate Office Buildings, House Office Buildings, U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, and other Architect of the Capitol (AOC) managed facilities. EA has performed occupational exposure assessments for such airborne contaminants as hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, asbestos, and silica, and developed recordkeeping and documentation procedures and tools to ensure the exposure assessments provided regulatory compliant information. EA provides asbestos-related assessment services to AOC and has performed periodic surveillance and reinspection activities to the U.S. Capitol Power Plant and Utility Distribution System since 2012. EA routinely supports capital projects in multiple AOC jurisdictions with hazardous materials and exposure assessment before, during, and after construction activities, as well as development of model and project-specific design specifications, support for specific safety issues such as permit-required confined space programs and heat stress prevention, and support to updates of Emergency Action and Response Plans and associated exercises.
