2024 Carbon Footprint Report Published

Cover of EA’s 2024 Carbon Footprint ReportHunt Valley, Maryland (23 September  2025)—EA has published its 2024 Carbon Footprint Report. This annual analysis, prepared in accordance with The Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, details EA’s enterprise-wide greenhouse gas emissions, value chain analysis, and offset purchases, ensuring disclosure transparency with regard to the company’s carbon footprint.

EA’s gross operational carbon footprint for calendar year 2024 was estimated at 19,389.7 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO₂e). Scope 3 activities associated with EA’s value chain accounted for more than 90 percent of gross carbon emissions.

The company’s top three emissions sources in 2024 were:

  • Purchased Goods and Services (including subcontracted services associated with EA’s project work)
  • Employee Business Travel
  • Employee Commuting and Home Offices

EA offset 5.8 percent (1,120.3 MTCO2e) of its gross emissions through the purchase of verified carbon offsets and Green-e®-certified Renewable Energy Certificates, including 100 percent offset of Scope 2 emissions. In addition, a portion of EA’s carbon offset purchases were made in response to emissions associated with company-wide business air travel and the temporary increase in solid and construction waste generated during the redesign of its Hunt Valley, Maryland, headquarters.

“As a public benefit corporation owned entirely by our employees, EA is committed to advancing sustainability and transparency in every aspect of our operations,” said Brian Lesinski, Executive Vice President and Director, Corporate Social Responsibility. “Our 2024 report reflects not only our commitment to transparency, but also our dedication to continually refining our approach as new technologies and best practices emerge. By investing in renewable energy credits, focusing on best business practices, and improving our data collection processes, we are strengthening our ability to drive meaningful change across our value chain.”

EA’s carbon footprint reporting, first initiated in 2009 and conducted annually, continues to set a benchmark for environmental responsibility in the industry.
