EA Issues 2022 PBC Statement and CSR Report

Cover of EA 2022 PBC Statement and CSR ReportHunt Valley, Maryland (1 December 2023)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in issuing its Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) Statement and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for calendar year 2022.

“We believe that sustainability considerations, such as those incorporated into the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Universal Standards framework to which we report, should not be an afterthought—instead, those considerations should be an integral part of decision-making processes as we strive to achieve the public benefits articulated in our company charter,” said Brian Lesinski, Senior Vice President and Director, CSR. “With this report, we proudly reaffirm our commitment to the triple bottom line of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and financial sustainability; transparent reporting aligned with globally recognized sustainability guidelines; and embracing materiality concepts as we work towards a sustainable and responsible future.”

EA continued growing in 2022 with net and gross revenues increasing by 20% and 39%, respectively, when compared to 2021 results. The comprehensive report highlights the firm’s goals, achievements, initiatives, and ongoing programs in various areas of sustainability and CSR, including professional development, community support, and charitable giving. With respect to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, EA continued making progress by reducing waste, increasing efficiency, promoting circular economic practices, and expanding the existing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program focused on workplace culture. In addition, the firm continues to meet or exceed established small and disadvantaged business program goals annually—more than 35% of EA’s direct spend went to small and diverse business enterprise partners. The firm also continued growth and expansion of its ESG and climate advisory service offerings, while cross-connecting existing markets and services with ongoing digital transformation efforts.

“We are excited to share the progress we have made in our sustainability journey and to set new goals for the future,” said Ian MacFarlane, EA President, CEO, and Chair. “Our PBC Statement and CSR Report serves as a testament to our ongoing dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and society.”

As a leader in the environmental industry, EA will continue building recognition as a world-class consulting and engineering firm by partnering with our clients to address today’s most complex environmental challenges by developing sustainable and resilient solutions that improve the quality of the environment in which we live, one project at a time®.
