EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Awarded Nationwide Blanket Purchase Agreement for Environmental Planning and Compliance Services by the National Park Service

Hunt Valley, Maryland (4 October 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Pre-National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Services Support by the National Park Service (NPS). The BPA has a 1-year base period and four, 1-year options for a maximum 5-year period of performance.

Under this nationwide BPA, EA will be tasked to deliver technical, regulatory, and programmatic support to assist NPS and individual park units in identifying requirements that should be met before the NEPA process, producing more focused and concise NEPA reviews and documents, and/or possibly identifying alternative solutions to meet a park’s need. EA will provide technical and subject matter expertise in the broad areas of the natural and physical sciences, cultural resources and historic properties, social sciences, and economics. In addition, EA will supply process management and strategy expertise in the areas of public outreach, meeting facilitation, and project management. The BPA allows for professional services to be provided at various NPS areas throughout the United States, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands under the direction of the Environmental Planning and Compliance Branch of NPS Environmental Quality Division.

To date, EA has been awarded two call orders under this BPA. Both call orders are for pre-NEPA support services, one for a Wilderness Stewardship Plan at North Cascades National Park, and the other for a Riverbank Stabilization Plan at Missouri National Recreational River. EA will assist the NPS with these two projects; specific tasks include identifying the purpose and need for the proposal, identifying significant issues associated with proposed actions, and development of preliminary alternatives.

“As demonstrated through our long-term working relationship, EA and NPS share a strong commitment to the highest degree of scientific integrity, which is reflected in our technical activities as well as our communications with the public,” stated Jeff Boltz, Ph.D., Vice President. “Our professional staff is well-versed in the NEPA procedural and documentary requirements, as well as the Department of the Interior’s NEPA regulations and the NPS NEPA Handbook. We appreciate the trust NPS continues to place in EA, and look forward to providing pre-NEPA services on current and future projects.”
