EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Awarded Performance-Based Remediation Contract at Joint Base Cape Cod in Massachusetts

Hunt Valley, Maryland (9 December 2014)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has been awarded a 10-year Performance-Based Remediation (PBR) contract with the U.S. Air Force to perform environmental remediation activities at Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC), located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The initial contract award is $5,459,838 and the total value of the contract, inclusive of all options, is $27,986,218.

Under this PBR contract, EA will perform a full range of environmental, minor construction and engineering, and operations and maintenance services activities to achieve performance objectives and support progress at 19 Installation Restoration Program and 8 Military Munitions Response Program sites located at JBCC. The firm’s responsibilities encompass operating in-place environmental remediation systems, complying with regulatory requirements, developing cleanup strategies, implementing effective remediation, optimizing remedial process performance, and conducting long-term monitoring.

Specific services to be provided by EA include site investigation, fate and transport modeling, risk assessment, engineering design, construction, remedial action, operation and maintenance, data management, and report preparation. In addition, EA will be responsible for unexploded ordnance investigations including the removal, transportation, and disposal of munitions-related debris, scrap material, and munitions residue from exploded ordnance as well as addressing contamination caused by munitions constituents.
