EA’s Terry McCann Honored by the Society of American Military Engineers

Hunt Valley, Maryland (9 May 2014)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that Terry McCann, a senior planner with the firm, was inducted into the Society of American Military Engineer (SAME) prestigious Academy of Fellows during an investiture ceremony held in Bethesda, Maryland on 26 March 2014. Terry earned this honor as a result of his dedicated and outstanding service to SAME and military engineering.

A member of the Society for 27 years, Terry has held increasingly demanding leadership positions at both the local and national levels. Locally, he has promoted science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for youth and supported both active and returning troops. Nationally, he is the Northwest Regional Vice President, 1 of 17 worldwide. A retired U.S. Navy Commander, Terry’s more than 28 years of service spanned a broad range of active duty and reserve leadership positions, and he was responsible for leading the operational planning for several joint command defense training exercises carried out throughout the Pacific Northwest. As an environmental planner, Mr. McCann’s efforts have paved the way for many landmark projects in the Seattle area. These include the Amazon.com World Headquarters; expansion of Virginia Mason Medical Center and Seattle University complexes; redevelopment of the growing neighborhood of South Lake Union; and, most recently, the Ninth and Stewart Mixed-Use Development.

Nim Desai, EA’s Vice President said, “This honor is a fitting tribute to Terry’s remarkable career and record of outstanding service to SAME at the local, regional, and national levels. This award validates his extensive technical knowledge, strength of character, and commitment to mentoring younger members of the engineering and environmental community. We are very fortunate to have employees of the caliber of Terry serving our clients.”
