EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Celebrates Engineers Week by Hosting “Day with an Engineer”
Hunt   Valley,   Maryland   (29   March  2013)    —      EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced that, for the eleventh consecutive year, it celebrated national Engineers Week by participating in Day with an Engineer, which is sponsored by the Baltimore Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).
Held annually, Day with an Engineer is aimed at raising a positive awareness and understanding of engineering, science, and technology as career choices among high school juniors and seniors. It provides the opportunity for students to spend the day with experienced professionals in order to gain a better understanding of how engineering, scientific, and technological disciplines are applied to address “real-life” challenges.
This year, EA hosted students at its new corporate headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Through a series of interactive engineering and scientific activities, developed by an enthusiastic team of EA professionals, the students learned firsthand how interdisciplinary teams comprised of a wide variety of engineering and scientific disciplines work together to address issues affecting society and the environment. The students also toured the company’s ecotoxicology and biological laboratories and performed a mock experiment.
“We are very proud of our firm’s long-term involvement with this exceptional program,” said Michael Battle, EA’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our staff truly enjoys the opportunity to mentor the students and promote a greater understanding of the critical roles that engineering and environmental professionals play in today’s society.”
