EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Expands its Ocean Science Capabilities with the Addition of John Morris
Hunt Valley, Maryland (2 March 2012)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has expanded its capacity to support ocean science projects throughout North America with the addition of senior scientist John Morris.
“Over the past few years, EA has seen the demand for oceanographic services grow in response to increased regulation, as well as the emergence of offshore renewable energy sources, most notably those projects that harness wind and ocean energy,” noted Michael Battle, EA’s Chief Operating Officer. “As a firm, EA has been providing a variety of marine science services for nearly four decades. The addition of Mr. Morris further enhances our capacity to support projects on the near shore and continental shelf involving side scan, single/multi-beam sonar, sub-bottom profiling, plume tracking, water quality profiling, current measurements, and other physical oceanographic studies."
A graduate of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (Pomona, New Jersey) with a degree in Marine Sciences and Coastal Resource Management, Mr. Morris brings to EA 20 years of experience in the performance of complex marine environmental projects. His background includes a wide array of shallow water, coastal, and deep ocean projects conducted at sites along the eastern seaboard of the United States and Canada, as well as in the Gulf of Mexico and waters off California, the Pacific Northwest, and Alaska. Mr. Morris’s role at EA will include managing and conducting marine projects requiring physical, chemical, and biological sampling; oceanographic instrument deployment; and precision geophysical surveys, including underwater military munitions detection and mapping.
