EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Joint Venture Awarded Environmental Contract by Maryland Department of Transportation
Hunt Valley, Maryland (16 January 2018)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that its joint venture with McCormick Taylor, Inc. (EA/MT JV) was awarded a second consecutive contract to provide National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Environmental Compliance Services to the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA). The contract is valued at $3 million over 5 years. Under this contract, the EA/MT JV will provide comprehensive environmental compliance, design, and management services to MDTA, primarily through its Office of Engineering and Construction and Office of Environment, Safety, and Risk Management.
The scope of the contract focuses on providing technical and managerial support to MDTA’s efforts to comply with NPDES general permit and Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load requirements, as well as implementation support for MDTA’s Environmental Management System and environmental compliance programs. Specific tasks may include environmental planning, assessment, permitting, and design for drainage systems and stormwater best management practices; water quality analyses and processes; field and data collection; and site investigation and remediation services. Additional responsibilities may encompass environmental permitting acquisition, Maryland Department of the Environment’s Oil Control Program support, Geographic Information System services, Environmental Management System implementation, drinking water and waste management program support, and other operational compliance activities, as well as assistance with green/sustainable energy and energy conservation and management.

EA is providing similar environmental compliance and stormwater management services to other MDOT modals including State Highway Administration, Maryland Port Administration, and Maryland Aviation Administration, as well as other state agencies and local governments.
