Hunt Valley, Maryland (7 June 2017)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that Harris Brody, CIH, CHMM, CSP, has been elected to serve a 2-year term as a Director on the Executive Board of the Philadelphia Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). In this position, Harris will provide leadership and guidance in support of the Section’s educational and training events, charitable activities, and professional awards and recognition programs.

Harris possesses deep knowledge in industrial hygiene matters, including indoor air quality, mold, asbestos, and other chemical and physical stressors. Throughout his career, Harris has performed more than 2,000 indoor air quality/mold inspections and conducted numerous large-scale asbestos projects in the mid-Atlantic region, including the survey and remedial design of more than 200 buildings and facilities. As a senior scientist, he is responsible for managing occupational health and safety projects for EA’s clients, ensuring compliance with current regulations and designing programs that create a safer and healthier workplace.

“Harris is a testament of how EA leads by example to promote science and engineering professions,” stated Chris Kerlish, Vice President and Manager of EA’s mid-Atlantic compliance unit. “A 15-year member of the Philadelphia Section of AIHA and 30-year industry veteran, he will be instrumental in advocating for the profession as well as serving as a mentor to inspire and motivate the next generation of industrial hygiene and workplace safety professionals.”

Harris holds professional certifications through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Boston University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware. Harris also holds numerous state and municipal registrations to perform and manage asbestos surveys and abatement design.
