EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Kicks Off Second Annual Water For People Campaign

Hunt Valley, Maryland (31 March 2017)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, recently kicked off its second annual awareness and fundraising campaign in support of Water For People (WFP), an international nonprofit organization with the mission of bringing clean drinking water and sanitation to all parts of the world.

Building on last years success, this charitable campaign launched on 22 March, World Water Day, and continues until 22 April, Earth Day. During the month, EA employees have the opportunity to support WFP through payroll donations, online contributions, and active participation in the many planned fundraising events, which range from bake sales to drawings. In addition, this year, all EA employees can champion the EA-corporate sponsored team for the Race Across America (RAAM), an ultra-endurance bicycle race from the west coast to the east coast of the United States, with all team proceeds going to WFP.

Last year, EA raised over $48,000 for WFP and our goal this year is to match, and hopefully exceed that amount, said Abbie Smith, P.E., Chair of EAs WFP Team. It is truly a corporate-wide campaign with all offices participating and engaging employees in a number of activities bringing greater awareness to the need for access to safe drinking water throughout the world.

With a well-established Corporate Social Responsibility Program, EA is committed to charitable giving and, in 2016, announced its partnership with WFP with a 3-year, $120,000 financial pledge. In addition to financial support, Ian MacFarlane, EAs President and Chief Executive Officer, provides professional advice and technical guidance as a member of WFPs Leadership Council and, annually, an employee is selected to participate on a week-long Impact Tour to visit a project, learn about sustainable practices, and experience first-hand the positive effects that WFP has on the region.
