EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Recognized for Industry Leadership

Hunt Valley, Maryland (24 March 2017)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it was recognized with a 2016 Business Achievement Award in the category of Industry Leadership by the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ). The honor was presented to EAs leadership team during an awards banquet held on 22 March 2017 in San Diego, California as part of EBJs Environmental Industry Summit XV, hosted by Environmental Business International.

EA was recognized for publishing its inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report/Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) Statement in 2016. The report reflects EAs continued success in achieving fiscal goals, while remaining mindful of its broader impact on society and the environment. Accomplishments of EAs CSR program, as detailed in the report, include the appointment of EAs first Director of CSR and first Small Business Liaison Officer; establishment of a PBC Committee; continued commitment to public disclosure of CSR efforts based on Global Reporting Initiative guidelines; formalization of a strategic partnership with Water For People; development of a new Supplier Portal to enhance opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses, as well as to include sustainability considerations in EAs supply chain; and introduction of a Paid Volunteer Time program for all employees.

Reflecting on the award, Ian MacFarlane, EAs President and Chief Executive Officer stated, Were honored to be recognized by EBJ amongst our industry peers for the efforts our employees have put forth under EAs PBC framework and CSR program. As an employee-owned PBC focused exclusively in the environmental space, public disclosure of our CSR efforts affirms our commitment as a good corporate citizen, drives innovation, reinforces the value of continuous improvement, and enhances our position as a trusted advisor to our clients.
