John Kumm, P.E., BCEE, Appointed as Vice Chairperson of Marylandís Air Quality Control Advisory Council
Hunt Valley, Maryland (20 January 2017)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that John Kumm, P.E., BCEE, Senior Engineer/Project Manager, has been appointed Vice Chairperson of Marylandís Air Quality Control Advisory Council (AQCAC). As a representative of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), John has been a member of AQCAC since 2009.
As Vice Chairperson of AQCAC, John will continue to utilize his air quality management expertise in reviewing and advising the Maryland Department of the Environment on draft air quality rules and regulations and evaluation of state-level measures to meet air quality standards, proposed legislation, and strategic plans created by the Departmentís Air and Radiation Management Administration. John has 34 years of experience managing complex air quality projects involving the characterization of air emissions sources, permitting and Clean Air Act regulatory compliance, air dispersion modeling and ambient impact analyses, and air pollution control engineering.

A licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, Johnís credentials include: Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) in Air Pollution Control by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED® AP) by the U.S. Green Building Council®. He has been a member of AIChE since 1982. John holds a Post-Masters Advanced Certificate in Environmental Engineering as well as a Master of Environmental Engineering degree from The Johns Hopkins University, and three degrees through the University of Maryland: a Master of Science in Engineering Management and two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Chemical Engineering and the other in Chemistry.
