Presented annually, the Horizon Award recognizes an up and coming member of CSAWWA who, through individual effort, has surpassed the defined expectations of CSAWWA and, as such, has a bright future in the organization and the water supply profession. The award was announced on 1 September during the Chesapeake Tri-Association Conference, which was held in Ocean City, Maryland.
During her 13-year professional career, Abbie has focused on developing and implementing process improvements for both water and wastewater systems. Her current portfolio of projects includes leading EA’s water and wastewater engineering design efforts at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. For CSAWWA, Abbie serves as Vice Chair of both the Chesapeake Magazine and Membership committees. In addition, she is actively involved with the Society of American Military Engineers, and is the leader of EA’s Workplace Giving Campaign supporting Water For People.
“We are proud of Abbie and appreciate both the energy and commitment she displays to the benefit of clients, colleagues, and CSAWWA,” said Sarah Ridgway, P.E., Vice President. “The future of the water industry rests with talented young professionals like Abbie, and she is clearly doing her part by making significant contributions in water distribution and wastewater treatment.”
A registered Professional Engineer in Maryland, Abbie holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University.
