EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Wins Contract to Provide Environmental Compliance Services to the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Aviation Administration

Hunt Valley, Maryland (30 August 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has been awarded a contract to provide Comprehensive Environmental Compliance Services at Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall and Martin State Airports by the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA). The contract has a maximum value of $8 million over its 5-year period of performance.

Under this contract, EA will support MAA in its efforts to comply with the vast number of local, state, and federal environmental requirements that apply to both airports. Under the contract’s very broad scope of work, EA will address the full breadth of environmental media, hazardous materials, and sustainability issues. Many of the required services are specific to airport operations, such as minimizing the environmental impact of deicing applications and permit compliance at jet fuel storage facilities.

On behalf of MAA, EA will be responsible for identifying applicable environmental regulatory requirements; performing required compliance actions, such as environmental testing and analyses, permit applications, and management plans; and developing and maintaining compliance tools and recordkeeping systems. In addition, EA will provide a wide range of assessment, design, and implementation support for the agency’s Environmental Management System, which EA has supported since 2006.

“Over the past 12 years, EA has worked collaboratively to assist MAA in seamless maintenance and efficient expansion of its environmental compliance programs during a period of transition and growth,” stated Sarah Ridgway, P.E., Vice President and Principal-in-Charge. “As a result of this experience, we are extremely knowledgeable of MAA operations and activities and can hit the ground running, resulting in significant cost savings to the agency.”

“EA appreciates this opportunity to continue as a trusted environmental service provider to MAA,” added Michael Battle, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Our ability to deliver excellence across the broad spectrum of services anticipated under this contract is enhanced through the addition of highly specialized certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) firms to the EA team. By purposefully integrating our team members into project assignments, the value our team brings to MAA is assured, and MBE participation goals are realized.”
