FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Announces Partnership with Water For People
Hunt Valley, Maryland (15 July 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today the company has forged a partnership with Water For People (WFP), a non-profit international development organization dedicated to providing access to potable water and sanitation systems and services in nine developing countries. The partnership was recently launched through an awareness and fundraising campaign held throughout EA’s network of offices during the month-long period spanning from the World Water Day to the 46th annual Earth Day.
Through the partnership, EA announced a 3-year, $120,000 financial commitment to WFP. Funding of pledged amounts will be generated through annual support campaigns comprised of individual employee donations, local fundraising events, and corporate matches. As part of the partnership, Ian MacFarlane, EA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, has accepted a seat on WFP’s Leadership Council, an advisory and information exchange group comprised of senior executives representing the environmental, engineering, and construction industries.
In making today’s announcement, Ian MacFarlane commented “Our partnership with WFP represents a great fit with the Charitable Giving pillar of EA’s Public Benefit Corporation framework. Supporting an organization whose primary goal is to provide safe access to drinking water in global regions of great need—and in a manner that empowers women—presents significant opportunity for our employee-owners to make a difference.”
Driven by the success of its inaugural awareness campaign, the company anticipates exceeding its annual commitment for 2016. Additional fundraising events are anticipated at many of EA’s offices throughout the remainder of the year.
