EA’s Employees Participate in 2016 Earth Day and Arbor Day Events

Hunt Valley, Maryland (20 May 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that staff members from several of EA’s offices participated in environmental restoration events held in recognition of the 46th annual Earth Day and the 144th annual Arbor Day.

In Rhode Island, EA professionals and family members worked to cleanup Merino Park along the Woonasquatucket River Greenway as part of a volunteer workforce organized by the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council. In New York, EA volunteers collected trash along a portion of the Erie Canal as part of a volunteer effort organized by the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency. In Maryland, a group of EA volunteers planted trees in a public green space in Baltimore as part of an event sponsored by Blue Water Baltimore.

“It was an extremely rewarding experience,” stated Hilary Williams, Environmental Scientist, who organized EA’s participation in the New York cleanup event. “At the end, we all had a great feeling of accomplishment—we helped our community and the environment, put in some hard work, and strengthened the comradery amongst our co-workers.”

Dr. Loren Jensen, EA’s Founder and Chairman of the Board, added, “EA was founded in 1973, 3 years after the first Earth Day, and I applaud the high level of environmental restoration and conservation that has taken place in that time frame. Yet, there is still much to be accomplished and our employees strive every day, both as environmental professionals and members of their local communities, to do more to benefit our environment and create a cleaner, greener, and healthier future.”
