EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Awarded Contract to Provide Environmental Monitoring Services by Harford County, Maryland

Hunt Valley, Maryland (25 April 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has been awarded a contract with Harford County, Maryland to provide Open-End Environmental Monitoring Services. The contract has a joint maximum value of $750,000 to be executed by EA and two other consulting firms selected through the same procurement. The contract has a 1-year initial period of performance, which may be extended for up to four additional 1-year options, for a potential contract term of 5 years.

Under this contract, EA will support Harford County in complying with the requirements of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and Total Maximum Daily Load reporting. EA may be tasked with developing, conducting, and reporting on sampling programs focused on determining the effectiveness of various stormwater best management practices. This includes stormwater sampling, biological and chemical monitoring, geomorphic and watershed assessments, geographic information system mapping, data interpretation, and statistical analyses. All activities will be focused on controlling stormwater pollutant discharges from the County’s storm drain system to the maximum extent possible, and on working toward meeting stormwater wasteload allocations for local water resources and the Chesapeake Bay.

“We are very pleased to be selected for this important contract with Harford County and to support the County as it meets the requirements of its MS4 permit,” stated Jeffrey Boltz, Ph.D., Vice President and Program Manager. “Our highly experienced team looks forward to building on prior successes to further improve the quality of Harford County’s water resources.”

Michael Battle, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, added, “EA is hard at work throughout Maryland helping municipalities, counties, and state agencies cost-effectively address today’s stormwater management requirements. Our talented team of professionals will leverage this experience to support the County as it seeks to maximize the effectiveness of its comprehensive stormwater management program.”
