EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC Awarded Contract to Provide Munitions and Environmental Response Services

Hunt Valley, Maryland (5 January 2016)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it has been awarded a Multiple Award Military Munitions Services II (MAMMS II) contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers–Baltimore District (USACE–Baltimore). This 5-year contract has a maximum joint total acquisition value of $240 million to be executed among nine contract holders. EA is one of three small businesses to be awarded a contract.

Under this multiple award task order contract, EA will provide a wide range of military munitions and environmental response services at various current and formerly used defense sites, property adjoining such sites, and other federally controlled/owned sites. This will include providing support for Department of Defense (DoD) environmentally-related programs such as the Military Munitions Response Program, Installation Restoration Program, Formerly Used Defense Sites Program, Base Realignment and Closure Environmental Program, and Range and Training Land Program. EA will perform this work in support of USACE–Baltimore’s Environmental and Munitions Design Center for its customers located primarily in the USACE North Atlantic Division mission area of responsibility within the continental United States.

EA will perform munitions and environmental response services to protect human health and the environment from hazards associated with military munitions and contaminants of potential concern. EA will be responsible for safely locating, identifying, recovering, evaluating, managing, and making final disposition of munitions and explosives of concern; munitions constituents; and hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste. Services may include investigation and field activities; operations, maintenance, and optimization of environmental treatment processes; engineering and remedial design; and remedial/response actions and removals.

“This is a strategically significant contract award for EA,” said Brenda Herman, P.G., Vice President and Army Program Manager. “Over the past 10 years, EA has significantly increased the breadth and depth of our munitions response services and capabilities to meet DoD’s needs. This award is a direct reflection of that effort, and the confidence that EA has earned for developing and implementing cost-effective technical solutions that address these unique environmental concerns. Munitions response is complex work that requires highly skilled personnel and very specialized equipment. EA, and our team members, have the experience and capabilities to perform this work safely and with the highest level of quality in order to meet the strict performance requirements set forth by USACE–Baltimore and its customers.”
