Hunt Valley, Maryland (30 October 2015)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is pleased to announce that it has become a corporate member of the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) (http://www.asbpa.org).
EA professionals recently participated in ASBPA’s National Coast Conference held in New Orleans from 13 to 16 October 2015. At the conference, Dr. Chandy John, Senior Scientist, gave a presentation entitled “Sediment Management Strategy for Restoration of the Cedar and Ortega Rivers.” Both rivers are located in the Jacksonville, Florida area. Sam Whitin, Senior Scientist and Manager of EA’s Warwick, Rhode Island office, was also in attendance.
“EA employees are active participants in professional organizations, such as ASBPA, and regularly attend forums and workshops in order to remain on the forefront of the latest developments in the industry,” stated Michael Battle, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “In addition, as demonstrated by Chandy’s presentation at the National Conference, we see ASBPA as a conduit for sharing EA’s extensive knowledge of coastal modeling, oceanographic measurements, and hydrographic surveys with others.”
Reflective of ASBPA’s mission, EA provides comprehensive coastal ecosystem restoration services to protect and manage important natural resources. EA routinely works with multiple project partners to achieve local restoration goals that ultimately benefit fisheries and natural resources on a national scale.
