Hunt Valley, Maryland (15 April 2014)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is pleased to announce the hiring of Jon Ritterling, P.E., as a Senior Engineer. Jon is based in the company’s Lincoln, Nebraska office. Established more than 33 years ago, EA’s Lincoln office provides a broad range of environmental services to a diverse client base comprised of both government agencies and private industry.

In his new role, Jon is responsible for managing environmental restoration and military munitions response projects being conducted by the firm on behalf of Department of Defense agencies at facilities located throughout the Midwest. In addition to providing the management and leadership needed to achieve performance objectives, Jon will support strategy formulation and proposal development to secure new business under performance-based contracts.

Jon joins EA with more than 20 years of experience successfully completing environmental restoration projects across the entire life cycle, from site investigation through site closeout. He has worked on more than 20 military installations across the United States, both active and inactive. Many of these have included successfully addressing the human health, safety, and environmental challenges associated with munitions and explosives of concern and/or hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste at sites managed under the Military Munitions Response Program, Formerly Used Defense Sites, Environmental Restoration, and Base Realignment and Closure programs. Drawing on his extensive knowledge, his efforts will be focused on conducting site investigations, developing remedial strategies, implementing remedial actions, and optimizing exit strategies.

Jon is a licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Nebraska and North Carolina, and is certified as an Environmental Manager in the State of Nevada. He holds Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska. In addition, Jon is an active member of several industry organizations, including the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
