Hunt Valley, Maryland (17 July 2012)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that it is one of three firms that have each been awarded an on-call contract with Montgomery County to provide professional engineering and planning services with regard to solid waste management. This contract covers a base period of 3 years with two potential 1-year options; services will be provided to the County’s Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Solid Waste Services.

Under this contract, EA will provide a variety of professional services to assist the County in meeting its solid waste management program goals. Individual task orders may encompass projects related to landfills and transfer stations, material collection and recycling, waste-to-energy, yard trim recycling, and remote waste management sites such as homeowner drop-off facilities. Services under the contract may include environmental, planning, design, operational, and construction support services, as well as program management, technical documentation, meeting management, and public information initiatives.

“We are excited to expand our service to Montgomery County through this new contract,” said Jonathan Brownstein, Ph.D., Vice President and Director of EA’s Facilities Compliance and Engineering operations. “We intend to leverage the full complement of scientific, engineering, and technical resources within our team to help the County achieve its solid waste management program objectives.”
