EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Names Three New Vice Presidents

Hunt Valley, Maryland (18 June 2012)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, is proud to announce the appointment of three long-time employees as Vice Presidents: Michele Bailey; Dr. Frank Barranco, P.G.; and Sarah Ridgway, P.E.

Michele Bailey

Michele Bailey, Vice President and Director of Human Resources, is a 32-year industry veteran who has been with EA since 2000. Over the course of her 12 years as EA’s Director of Human Resources, she has helped develop and implement numerous key policies and programs related to human resources administration. Throughout the past decade, Michele has also been instrumental in evaluating and negotiating competitive health care benefits for EA’s employees. She is a member of the company’s 401(k) Committee, as well as the Employee Stock Ownership Plan Committee, in which she has participated since its founding in 2006. She is a registered Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute, and is active in several professional organizations, including the Society of Human Resources Management and the Chesapeake Human Resources Association.

Dr. Frank Barranco

Dr. Frank Barranco, P.G., Vice President and Director of Quality Control, has 23 years in the consulting business, including 16 years with EA. Frank, who is also EA’s Chief Geologist, is often called upon as an expert in contaminant fate and transport modeling; conceptual site model development; and bench- and pilot-scale feasibility testing, implementation, and optimization of complex in situ remediation techniques. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Duke University, a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Texas/Arlington, and a Doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Frank is a registered Professional Geologist in the state of Tennessee. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Engineering for Professionals program at The Johns Hopkins University. He has published extensively on a variety of environmental topics, and is a member of the American Society of Testing and Materials’ E50 Committee for Green and Sustainable Remediation.

Sarah Ridgeway

Sarah Ridgway, P.E., Vice President and Manager of mid-Atlantic Engineering Services, has served in a variety of management and technical positions since joining EA in 2001. For more than a decade, she has been integral to the growth and development of EA’s engineering practice, including expanded services and capabilities in solid waste, water/wastewater, stormwater management, water resource management, erosion and sedimentation control, hazardous waste site remediation, and ecosystem restoration. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland. She is also actively involved in a variety of professional societies, including the American Water Works Association and the Chesapeake Water Environment Association
