EA Joint Venture Awarded Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific Contract
Hunt Valley, Maryland (16 May 2012)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of interdisciplinary environmental services, announced today that the GSI-EA JV, LLC, a joint venture in which it participates, has been awarded a contract to support long-term maintenance and remedial action operations for environmental sites in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific Area of Responsibility (AOR). NAVFAC Pacific awarded a total of five such fixed price remedial action contracts to small businesses with an overall contract pool valued at up to $20 million over a potential 3-year contract period.
Under this contract, EA and its joint venture lead—GSI Pacific Inc., a Native Hawaiian-Owned Organization—will facilitate remedial actions and support long-term management at environmentally impaired sites located predominantly at Navy installations in Hawaii and Guam, and other areas in the NAVFAC Pacific AOR. Typical projects under this contract will include long-term maintenance and management of environmental restoration sites, as well as long-term monitoring, operation, and maintenance of remedial action systems and maintenance of land use controls.
“With more than 30 years of collective experience performing environmental restoration projects and current contracts with the Navy to perform remediation projects in Hawaii and throughout the Pacific Rim, our team is well positioned to support the Navy’s environmental mission,” said Nimish Desai, Vice President and Director of EA’s Pacific Operations. Ian MacFarlane, EA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, added “Working together with our joint venture partner, EA is looking forward to continuing to support the Navy in this new contract by delivering the highest level of service to NAVFAC Pacific.”
