"EA is highly committed to sustainability practices and we are very proud of what our staff has accomplished," said Jay Snyder, EA’s Albuquerque Office Manager. "Over the past year, for example, our office started a cardboard recycling tracking system and exceeded our goal by recycling 94 percent of the cardboard waste generated. We also implemented recycling programs for paper, aluminum, plastic, ink toner cartridges, glass, and batteries."
To receive this distinction from the NMED Pollution Prevention Program, EA’s Albuquerque office documented its achievements in pollution prevention and sustainable practices during the past year, citing quantitative results in such areas as material recycling, green purchasing, waste minimization, and participation in community enhancement initiatives. Over the next year, the office will build on existing sustainability commitments by increasing the use of paper with recycled content, and contributing effort toward improving properties in a local open space program.
"These worthwhile efforts result in both saving money and reducing impacts on the environment," said Green Zia Manager Michelle Vattano. "We are pleased to recognize environmental leaders such as EA, and we encourage all New Mexico businesses to take similar steps to promote waste reduction."
