EA’s Founder and Chairman, Loren D. Jensen, Ph.D., Named to the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Academy of Sciences
Hunt Valley, Maryland (5 October 2011)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of multidisciplinary environmental services, has announced that its founder and chairman, Loren D. Jensen, Ph.D., has been appointed to a 3-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Academy of Sciences, which is the governing body of the Maryland Science Center.
A senior scientist and business executive who founded EA as Ecological Analysts, Inc. in Baltimore in 1973, Dr. Jensen has more than four decades of experience managing and analyzing environmental problems for U.S. industry and government agencies. Formerly a professor at the Johns Hopkins University and Principal Scientist for the University’s Chesapeake Bay Research Institute, Dr. Jensen has earned a strong national reputation for his expertise in the scientific, educational, regulatory, political, and managerial aspects of environmental issues. He has published extensively and conducted field studies of ecological system impacts across the country.

The Board of Trustees includes more than 30 members, all selected for their recognized leadership in the local community in the areas of academia, government, and industry. This Board serves the public interest as it relates to the Maryland Science Center and is accountable to the public as well as to the institution. In most cases, the Board acts as the legal entity for the Maryland Science Center, and is responsible for making and maintaining its general policies, standards, condition, and operational continuity.
