EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Awarded New Contract with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

Hunt Valley, Maryland (24 March 2011)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of environmental, engineering, and program/construction management services, announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). This Assessment Investigation and Remedial Services (AIRS) contract is valued at $750,000 for the first year. There are three potential 1-year renewal options with funding yet to be determined. EA will manage this work from its office in Lewisville, Texas, utilizing staff located in Houston, San Antonio, Lubbock, and Odessa, Texas, as well as Albuquerque, New Mexico.

"In the past, EA has supported TCEQ on smaller projects related to underground storage tank management," stated Roger Place, P.G., Vice President and Director of EA's Central Business Unit. "Today, our expanding capabilities in Texas and extensive experience gained throughout the state make us well-suited to meet TCEQ's requirements for this particular contract. We are ready to support TCEQ by helping them to assess and remediate a wide variety of contaminated sites, under circumstances where we have been awarded a contract covering the remediation of those particular sites."

This new AIRS contract will be used for non-gas station sites with any type of contaminant. This expands upon the scope of EA's previous contracts, which were used primarily to clean up petroleum (diesel fuel, gasoline, or used oil). Many of the TCEQ’s Remediation Division contracts involve "orphan" sites, where the responsible party is either nonexistent or financially unable to clean up the contamination.

"EA has assembled an outstanding team of highly qualified investigators and remedial specialists to ensure the successful execution of this program," added Ian MacFarlane, EA's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our company is excited to have been selected for this contract and to have this opportunity to continue putting our expertise to work on behalf of TCEQ."
