FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. Joins the Maryland Green Registry
Hunt Valley, Maryland (9 November 2010)—EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA), a leading provider of environmental, engineering, and compliance services, announced today that it has joined the Maryland Green Registry, a statewide voluntary program to promote and recognize sustainable “greening” efforts by organizations of all types and sizes across the state of Maryland.
To become a member of the Registry, EA completed a best practices profile, documenting the successful implementation of its environmental practices. This included demonstrating best practices in the areas of environmental management and leadership, waste reduction, energy and water conservation, and transportation, among others. EA’s profile, together with other Registry members, is posted online to demonstrate each member’s environmental commitment and encourage information exchange.
“The Maryland Green Registry provides a dynamic opportunity for EA to join with other leading organizations to share details about our sustainability practices and inspire others to take similar steps to protect our air, land, and water resources,” said Ian MacFarlane, EA’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Michael Battle, EA’s Chief Operating Officer, added “EA’s membership underscores our determination to be effective stewards of the environment. We look forward to using this platform to learn from Registry members, and encourage others to establish similar practices to reduce the environmental impact of their business operations.”
As an environmental consulting firm, EA’s ongoing green commitment has long been reflected in the services it provides and the projects it completes on behalf of its clients. EA has an established corporate-wide sustainability program and has employed these—and similar—principles to improve environmental performance since the company’s founding in 1973. From developing energy savings and pollution prevention programs to implementing environmental management systems, EA works closely with its clients to harness the power of renewable energy sources, conserve water and energy, decrease waste, and formulate integrated sustainability policies and practices.
